The Marine Rescue function of Volunteer Marine Rescue Brisbane has transitioned to Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ — Sandgate).
Members of VMR Brisbane Inc. voted to transition to Marine Rescue Queensland. The Rescue Function officially joined MRQ on 17 September named MRQ — Sandgate. While the name and uniforms have changed, the commitment of the volunteer crews to boating safety and our marine community remains unwavering.

Welcome Sandgate Water Activities Club (SWAC).
SWAC is the not-for-profit organisation that is going to facilitate the continuation of Volunteer Marine Rescue Brisbane’s community activities for the benefit of VMR Brisbane’s members and the community. SWAC will also support affiliate clubs and marine rescue support activities. There’s a lot that is the same and a lot that will change. We’re in the early stages and will share more as we develop.
